SAILBOAT KITS
RUDDER PROP
DETAILS

Rudder and Prop Details

Bezier 28 architectural plans include complete rudder and prop construction details specific to this design.

The rudder is easily removed from the keel by disconnecting the flange at the top of the rudder. With the rudder removed the propeller and propeller shaft can be maintained.

The rudder and prop assembly are fabricated from standard pipe and tubing. Stuffing boxes, wheel steering quadrant, and fiber bearings for both the rudder and prop assembly are readily available from various manufactures.

In the event of a steering failure an emergency tiller can be attached to the top of the rudder shaft thru a deck plate in the cockpit floor.
