Dark Harbor 17.5
(Aluminum Version Redesign Intent)

To promote 'Bezier Design and Construction' True Round steel and aluminum boat building's method I will be redesigning the classic Gaff rigged design, Dark Harbor 17.5, for aluminum construction in Real Time,

(Well, My Real Time)

It is not the objective of this redesign to create a replica of the orginial design but to bring the classic appeal of Dark Harbor 17.5 into the 21st century with the addition of a propulsion system, Toilet, electonics, enhanced companionway hatch design, and a 7/8 Fractional Rig, while striving to keep Dark Harbors 17.5 classic charm as shown in Dark Harbor 17.5 gaff rigged sail-plan below.

As a measure of success, the feel-performance of the orginial plank on frame design will be compared to the redesigned aluminum version, with the aboved upgrades, by way of Aero-hydro 'Velocity Prediction Software'.
